Natural Sun Highlights without the Sun

I love my red blond hair, and I love what it looks like after the summer of sun, and during winter, its hard to keep my hair and skin with that sun kiss glow all the time but with about five minutes a day after I shower. Summer is never gone.
Now if you are a brunette or red head, you can use this and keep your summer time colour year round.

My favorite is Lemon Oil Spray

 1. I use 1 whole lemon, roll it around a bit to make sure to its nice and juicy. I cut it in half and juice it into a strainer, keeping out pulp and seeds. Get as much out as possible. I find this part quite fun.

2. Next: in a spray bottle. (I use old spray and wash bottles.) measure your lemon juice and put twice as much water in next. Lemons are very acidic and can cause damage to skin if used in too much concentration. Never fear, I have never done damage to my scalp or skin from this treatment.

3. Now for the interesting part, add a half a teaspoon of olive oil. Olive oil is great for skin and hair and helps add a light amount of conditioner to your hair.

4. Mix up the oil and place in fridge until use.

I find it works best to have towel dried hair after the shower. spray generously into hair, make sure to lift and get the underneath parts of hair. and rub in and let sit for five or so minutes.

Now during the summer, go ahead and dry your hair with the sun. But in winter, I like to sit under a hair dryer until my hair is dry, and sun kissed light.

Now you can style your hair as normal. I love to have my hair up in a bun or braid.
Keep this up 2-3 times a week and your hair will look happy and bright year long.

All Natural Skin Scrub!

So I know every woman wants to look beautiful and flawless, but what we see in magazines and Television the image of women is unnatural.

Now if there you are like me, natural ways to clean the face are so much better than harsh chemicals. My personal favorite is the Milk and Nutmeg.

I use about 1/3 cup of milk, I use 2%, but you can use whole, almond or rice milk as well. Then add about a teaspoon of ground nutmeg. It will smell sweet and I have not found this to be a bad thing. Mix up the ingredients and add a drop and I mean drop of olive oil. This will help your skin retain its natural oils.

I like to rub on my face for about 30 seconds and I personally use my Clarisonic Mia and enjoy wonderful effects it gives. Make sure to wash with warm water and your skin will feel soft and sweet after.

Long Braided Bun

This is one of my favorite hairstyles, it is super easy and can be used with long or medium length hair. My beautiful model here is my friend Sara, and she has gorgeaus long blond curls perfect for this creation.

Step 1: Seperate the hair down the middle into two sections. pin on side up and get ready to use the other side.

Step 2: Braid the hair down in a dutch or french braid (I used dutch) down to the ear. Then you will do what is called a lace braid. loosely braid the hair into the braid, leaving lots of loose hair to whisp the ends. Don't worry about the braid coming loose.

Step 3: Secure hair with hair band at the bottom of the braid. Make sure you get down as far as you can.

Step 4: Repeate step 1 thru 3 with the other side of head.

Step 5: Now that you have two lovely braids. about the middle of head, bring the braids together and pin together with bobby pins.

Step 6: Take the pony tails and curl under braid and pin to head. Keeping the braids attached all the way down. Make sure to spray a little hair spray (a little goes along way).

Pair with a cute top and jeans or dress it up with a nice dress and some boots. It is personable and creative. Enjoy!

Start of Something New

I have learned a lot in my 20 years on earth. One is that things change and you have to be flexible, adventurous and spontaneous. One way I have learned to do this is through style, hair, and an all around healthy lifestyle. I like to call my style comfortably feminine, easy and effortlessly beautiful. I would love to share some of my secrets with you and hope you find it just as enjoyable as I have in my few years.
