Interveiw Yourself

First off, sorry about not getting my promised post up. Computer and camera issues do not make it easy to shoot.

Recently I was let go from a job without notice and without cause and the worst part, they did it over the phone and I keep thinking back and I couldn't remember doing anything wrong in my interveiw and then I got to thinking, did I interveiw myself?

1. Tell me about yourself.

            This is always the hardest and can catch people off guard, you know a lot about yourself and what you "think" you like and what you "think" society likes. I know for myself personally I like my humor, but I also know it can sometimes be blunt and I try to temper that to the best of my ablilty, though I am human an make mistakes sometimes.
        Tip 1
            Spend some time in the mirrow talking to yourself about the best parts of yourself, and even the worst. Be honest with yourself, it dosen't help you to lie to yourself, because then you lie to others.

       Tip 2
             Its alright to ask for help, you can use youtube and or friend and family for practice. If it makes it easier, pretend you are Miss America, and interveiwing about yourself infront of the country. Those women spend a lot of time practicing, and even they know they are never perfect.

2. Why do YOU want this job.

             Questions like this are extremely important. Employeers want to here your opinions and your reasonings behind why you want THAT job, and think hard. Do you want a summer job? if so don't pretend you are looking for longer employment to be more elegeble over other candidates. This leads to that ever popular statement "Carma is a Bitch"  as if you do get hired, and you then leave early without stating your intention, the reprocussions down the road may not be to your liking. Better to tell the truth, many times that will shock the employer and they will gain your respect, even if they do not hire you, they may help you.

           Honest knowledge of the employer and a few reasons why you want the job are good facts to have, and honesty in why you want the job.

 You should also have a good level head, take some deep breaths before your interveiw and smile a lot, you are smarter than you believe. If its meant to be, then faith trust and pixie dust and you will have the job.  

Now... to Clothing! 

Dressing for success can take practice, but that just makes for all the more fun.

If you are like me, shopping for clothing can be a terrible and teadious task that requires time, patients and usually tears to find something that fits, looks good and makes you feel comfortable. I don't deny its difficult.

Take some brutally honest girlfriends or guyfriends with you, someone you trust and feel comfortable with. Who will tell you like it is. I like to go with my sister Brookelyn, who will tell me like it is, even if I don't want to hear it.

Do not despare at size. If you worry about the size, life will get complicated. If you feel Confident, that is what matters!

Don't despare though. There are clothing out there for every shape!  For example when you look at ensambles and think, I could NEVER wear that. think, HOW could I wear that.

Curvy Girls:
     You could wear a V cut shirt, V cut accent the neckline but also enlongate the torso. Long flare pants add balance to wide hips so not to make you appear too curvy, Show Smart, not Large.

Boyshape Girls:
       The outfit shown would be ideal. Dark slender bottoms give height and a top with shape will give the illsuion of more curves than one has. The heels should never be more than 3 inches, otherwise you may wobble.

Wardrobe Ideas.

Pear:
       If you sensitive about the size of you bottom, one good option is to wear an A line skirt, they are loose without making you appear larger. Top it off with a well fitting scoop neck to add volume if you need extra help in the bust area. A nice fitting blazer is always classy and a good way to add some color, remember to not be afraid.

Apple:
        If trying to balance out the top and bottom is an issue, larger skirts, or wide trousers will off set a larger topside. If you have a large midsection, babydoll tops are great to give a slimming effect, along with loose scoop neck shirts.


Ever single outfit shall be a balancing act and have to fix something to find what works for you. Making everything your own and individual is key.


If you go out on 200 interveiws and get 1 job. Think of all the practice, friends, experience, and knowledge you got about yourself in the process. Don't be discouraged by the answer no. Let that empower you to strive for yes, for higher.
