Nail Art: Color Tips
Step 1
Make sure you have all the nail polish you will need. I use a base coat that is nail strengthener, with a sheer color to it. I have my top coat and my nail polish for design. I don't have a set brand I like, so don't think there is the perfect secret to which nail polish works best. My favorite is one that is friendly to my wallet.
Step 2
I use the brightener to create natural colored nails with a light hint of color. If you can't tell, my nails have this brightener on, its just a nice natural looking color that creates a flat clean surface.
Step 3
I now cover my nails with scotch tape, leaving the tips uncovered and fold the tape slightly to get the curve effect your nails naturally have. I try and wait at least 20 minutes after the top coat before using tape, this way you don't pull off any other the other paint on your nails. That would be unfortunate.
Step 4
I then paint each tip a different colors and I try to use complimentary colors that look good with each other. Make sure the tape is stuck down extremely hard and covers the entire nail so you don't get blobs of paint in different places of the nail.
Step 5
Once you are finished with step 4, wait to dry and pull off the tape. I then take my white nail art pen and create a thin line around the color section of my nail. Separating each of the colors, and creating the finishing touch.
Step 6
I then add a decorative touch to my ring finger on both hands. This time I choose plaid, sometimes I use flowers, or a design of some type. I use my nail art pen for this, just to make sure it has a perfect line. (Or close to perfect) I am only human and I go for how I feel about my nails, not what everyone else will think.
Step 7
The perfect finishing touch is top-coat nail polish, it helps with chips, and smooths your nails while giving them a perfect gloss look to them. I also use the clear nail polish to coat ear rings and necklaces so they don't bother my skin.
So in easy seven steps, perfect (as perfect as human can make) Nails.
